Join our Downer Professional Servicesteam and play a key role in delivering complex defence and national security projects that safeguard Australias future.

Downer Professional Services is comprised of two business units our Technical Advisory and Capability consulting practice and Team Downer a major service partner to Defence. Together we are a multi-disciplinary advisory and delivery partner of choice for our clients in Defence and National Security.

We are seeking highly experienced professionals to support critical projects within LC4S. The Land C4 Program is employing a programmatic multiple submission approach to achieve continuous and iterative delivery of capability. This will be enabled by a coordinated and holistic approach to requirements definition and contracting arrangements for future Land C4 systems.

What Youll Do

This role offers a broad scope with key role responsibilities including:

Deliver handson hardware and software integration including building configuring and validating RHEL/Windows images servers laptops and network devices across lab and representative platform environments.
Execute network implementation tasks configuring IP addressing VLANs routing trunking and validating performance/QoS across integrated systems.
Perform structured troubleshooting and defect management across physical OS application and network layers including log capture RCA and defect tracking.
Support security and accreditation applying OS hardening producing artefacts such as PPS matrices diagrams build guides and STIGstyle checklists.
Produce highquality technical documentation and collaborate with engineering cybersecurity vendors and leadership to communicate progress risks and system readiness.

What Youll Bring

Handson integration capability including hardware setup and testing of servers laptops and network devices along with experience building and configuring Linux (RHEL) and Windows images services drivers and packages.
Strong ability to troubleshoot hardware and software issues methodically applying structured faultisolation techniques and producing clear defect reports.
Solid grounding in networking fundamentals such as IP addressing/subnetting VLANs trunk/access ports cabling standards and basic routing/switching.
Highly advantageous exposure to labbased Test & Evaluation OS security hardening (CIS/STIG) virtualisation/containerisation (VMware KVM Docker/Podman) CI/CD image pipelines Defence environments restricted networks and scripting for automation.
Ability to produce and manage technical artefacts such as network/solution diagrams (Visio/) and configuration items in Git supporting consistent repeatable and auditable integration workflows.

Due to the nature of the work you are required to currently hold and maintain a minimum NV1 or higher Security clearance as required by the some instances compliance withInternational Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)requirements may also be an inherent requirement.
