Who are we looking for

ADA Engineering a GHD company is currently looking for an HVAC Mechanical Engineerto join their Florida based team! In this role you will work alongside project team members to perform mechanical calculations sizing air distribution systems piping systems and specifying equipment during the design of projects. Potential projects include schools (k-12 and universities) hotels apartments airports ports commercial properties medical facilities parks & recreational facilities water and wastewater facilities.

Working with an energetic and high performing team this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:

Maintain an understanding of relevant technology external regulation and industry best practices through ongoing education attending conferences and reading specialist media.
• Engineering Solutions Design: Contribute to the design of engineering solutions; design the feasibility testing approach and supervise its implementation to support the development and validation of engineering solutions.
• Engineering Standards Specification: Carry out a range of activities under the guidance of more senior colleagues to support the drafting of engineering standards and specifications and the evaluation of the effectiveness of those standards.
• Project Management: Work within an established project management plan to achieve specific goals.
• Client & Customer Management (External): Help senior colleagues manage client and customer relationships by using relevant sales or client systems.

What youll bring to the team:

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university
• Engineer-In-Training (EIT) is preferred with intent to pursue Professional Engineer (PE) license
• 4-6 years of experience in the design of commercial HVAC or Plumbing systems
• Proficient in AutoCAD and Revit
• Proficient in Cooling/Heating Load software like Trane 3D (Trane 700) or Equivalent
• General understanding of construction document production and development
• General understanding of mechanical and/or plumbing codes energy codes ASHRAE standards and the latest Florida Building Code
• LEED certification is preferred
