Summary
- The Cook/Housekeeper will be integral in maintaining a safe clean and welcoming environment within our six-bedded childrens residential home. This role involves preparing nutritious meals for up to 10 residents and staff ensuring the kitchen and associated areas are managed to a high standard. The postholder will contribute to the wellbeing of young people some of whom may display challenging behaviors by providing consistent routines high-quality food provision and a homely environment.
Responsibilities
- Prepare daily lunch and evening meals for up to 10 residents and staff.
- Plan and produce weekly menus that meet dietary needs preferences and nutritional requirements.
- Order weekly food supplies either through online shopping or in-person supermarket visits.
- Ensure stock rotation and proper storage of all food items.
- Maintain a clean safe and well-organized kitchen environment.
- Carry out routine cleaning tasks including surfaces appliances and food preparation areas.
- Monitor and record fridge and freezer temperatures accurately in line with health and safety requirements.
Requirements
- Experience in maintaining a clean safe and well-organized kitchen environment.
- Ability to carry out routine cleaning tasks including surfaces appliances and food preparation areas.
- Competence in monitoring and recording fridge and freezer temperatures accurately in line with health and safety requirements.
- Food Hygiene Certificate (Level 2 or above) essential or willingness to obtain.
- Any relevant catering hospitality or housekeeping qualifications desirable.

- Working hours: 28 hours per week
- Bi-weekly payments
