- This is a 3-month contract role with a local authority providing an efficient safe and responsive service to customers of the Care Link Community Alarm Service. The position is crucial in ensuring timely emergency response installation and maintenance of community alarm equipment personal care assistance when needed and ongoing support to vulnerable adults living independently. This frontline role demands excellent judgment compassion moving and handling skills and the ability to work independently on a rota-based schedule.
Responsibilities
- Respond immediatelyindividually or in pairsto emergency calls received via the Control Centre system.
- Assess situations on arrival and take appropriate action including contacting emergency services.
- Provide or assist with urgent personal care using appropriate moving and handling aids.
- Ensure customers homes are left secure and notify next of kin when required.
- Visit prospective customers to assess suitability for alarm installation including power/telephone points and safe access.
- Install and demonstrate alarm units ensuring they are positioned safely and appropriately.
- Instruct customers on correct usage and encourage pendant/trigger wear.
Requirements
- Previous moving and handling experience (essential).
- Experience working in Adult Social Care community care or similar care environments.
- Some knowledge of Care in the Community legislation.
- Moving and Handling training (desirable; otherwise provided).
- Care-related qualifications (e.g. NVQ Level 2/3 in Health & Social Care) desirable but not essential.
- Willingness to complete mandatory training.
- Full UK Driving Licence (non-negotiable) vehicles available on site.

- Working hours: 35 hours per week
- Bi-weekly payments
- Location: Churchill Court 2 Westmoreland Road Bromley Kent BR1 1AS United Kingdom
- Working Pattern: Rota-based (45 shifts over 7 days including weekends; shifts between 7:00 am9:00 pm)
- Start date: Week commencing 9th February
- On-site only (no remote working)
