Red Ember Recruitment is seeking on behalf of our client a Buyer to join their team in Bellville Western Cape.
This role is focused on strategic procurement within the construction/property development environment with an emphasis on sourcing negotiating and managing suppliers rather than administrative order processing. The Buyer will work closely with the Site Manager and Ordering Clerk to ensure cost-effective timely and compliant procurement aligned with project requirements and budgets.
Responsibilities:
- Source and evaluate suppliers materials and subcontractors.
- Request compare and negotiate quotes to achieve cost savings and quality standards.
- Prepare purchase recommendations and obtain approvals as per procurement policy.
- Monitor supplier performance and maintain supplier database.
- Coordinate with Site manager to forecast material needs.
- Ensure compliance with budget limits and project timelines.
- Approve purchase orders within delegated limits.
- Resolve supply issues back orders or discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate procurement records and assist with reporting.
- Work closely with the Ordering Clerk to ensure that approved purchase orders are accurately processed tracked and delivered on time.
Requirements
- Matric -Grade 12.
- 3-5 yrs experience in construction/property development procurement.
- Pastel/BuildSmart experience.
- Strong reporting skills using Excel.
- Own vehicle and valid drivers license.
- Fully bilingual.
- Reside in the Northen Suburbs.
- Non-smoker.
Required Skills:
Reside in the Northern Suburbs. Fully bilingual (English & Afrikaans written and verbal). Legal Secretary or Paralegal experience within a property conveyancing or commercial law firm. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word Excel and Outlook. Solid understanding of legal documentation contract structure and filing standards. Proven ability to ensure accuracy and turnaround time in preparing and processing legal and FICA documentation. Demonstrated attention to detail accuracy in record-keeping and data management. Excellent organizational time management and reporting skills. Professional written and verbal communication with responsiveness and clarity in tenant correspondence. Ability to maintain confidentiality ensure compliance and meet deadlines under pressure.
