Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Senior Database Administrator to manage and optimize production OLTP databases ensuring high availability performance and security. The role involves proactive performance tuning database migrations upgrades and close collaboration with stakeholders to support business-critical data requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Ensure OLTP databases remain stable secure and high-performing
Proactively investigate and resolve database performance issues
Maintain backup policies and routine administrative tasks such as indexing and statistics updates
Identify high-consumption queries and work with users to improve efficiency
Manage database access controls and ensure security compliance with IT policies
Build dashboards to identify performance gaps and support incident triage workflows
Collaborate end-to-end with stakeholders to deliver required data outcomes
Develop Python scripts to process and prepare data for consumption
Lead migrations and upgrades of production-critical MySQL databases and Percona Clusters
Plan and execute controlled upgrades with rollback and rollout strategies
Perform version migrations with detailed risk assessment
Manage partitioning and storage strategies aligned with log shipping use cases.
Create and manage clustering and de-clustering for MySQL and MS SQL environments

Requirements

Strong hands-on experience with MySQL MS SQL Server and PostgreSQL
Proven expertise in database performance tuning indexing and execution plan analysis
Experience setting up and managing backups restores and replication
Solid understanding of database security roles and permissions
Hands-on experience with high-availability database systems
Experience with production database migrations and upgrades is mandatory
