DescriptionIn accordance with the Mission Vision and Values and strategic directions of Vancouver Island Health Authority patient safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone at VIHA and as such the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.
Under the direction and supervision of an Occupational Therapist Physiotherapist or Speech/Language Pathologist and as a member of a collaborative multidisciplinary health care team the Rehabilitation Assistant assists patients/clients to achieve their rehabilitation goals through the implementation of assigned rehabilitative activities and/or treatment interventions.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education Training And Experience
Completion of a Rehabilitation Assistant Program or an equivalent combination of education training and experience. Registered with the BC Care Aide registry.
Skills And Abilities
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to deal with others effectively.
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
- Ability to organize work.
- Ability to type at 50 w.p.m.
- Ability to operate related equipment.
