Anticipated Opening for 2026-2027Special Educator (K-6)$500 Hiring Bonus after Successful Completion of Probationary Period!About Us: Vermont Achievement Center Inc. (VAC) serving Rutland and Vermont since the Role: Position: Special Educator (K-6) at Sheldon Academy Location: Rutland VT 05701 (Relocation required) Pay: $23.25 - $24.50 per hour (depending on qualifications) Hours: Work 8-hour day shifts (Monday to Friday 8am-4pm) for a 10-month position following the school calendar for seasonal breaks and federal Responsibilities: *Provide direct instruction in-class support for learning and social skills and therapeutic support. *Assess student abilities and monitor general education and IEP goal achievement with minimal tri-annual evaluation responsibilities. *Implement edit and consult on IEP plans; share case management responsibilities and prepare IEP progress reports. *Collaborate with general educators to prepare report cards and attend student meetings as scheduled. *Plan and implement curriculum based on Vermont State Standards maintain organized materials and student records and provide consultation on therapeutic and behavior support : B.S. or B.A. in Education or Special Education (Masters preferred) with Vermont Special Education Licensure K-6 or eligibility. 3 years of teaching experience with behaviorally/emotionally disturbed children. Valid Vermont drivers license and strong communication organizational and basic computer skills. Proficient in special education law IEPs and assessments.
