Responsible for case management of all cognitive disabilities including folder review collection of required documents IDT team collaboration TABE testing review and development of academic and career technical training plans to support students goals and success.
Maintains a high degree of discipline within the classroom to ensure maximum learning.
Establishes a strong studentinstructor rapport.
Provides smallgroup instruction and tutoring as needed for students with special needs.
Trains all staff on learning support/disabilities and ensures students receive appropriate accommodations in education testing and training settings.
Participates in initial screening of disabled students assesses needs and ability to benefit from the Job Corps Program and coordinates living quarters prior to arrival. Makes prearrival contact with new disabled students to ensure all requirements are met.
Works closely with the Regional Office and Health Services Administrator to ensure appropriateness of applicants prior to input.
Performs vocational assessments for all students needing learning support.
Processes accommodation requests for classroom and testing in a timely and efficient manner.
Develops work experience sites and coordinates placement for disabled students.
Assists in completing all required Job Corps forms.
Establishes contacts with state and community agencies representing the disabled and acts as liaison between these agencies and the Center.
Develops referrals to and receives reports from Health Services regarding speech therapy psychological evaluations and special health issues providing appropriate followup.
Operates in accordance with PRH requirements Standard Operating Procedures and corporate policies.
Evaluates and records student progress evaluations and case notes in CIS as appropriate.
Clearly communicates and consistently models appropriate CSS and employability skills.
Maintains accountability of staff students and property.
Adheres to safety practices in all areas of responsibility.
Fosters and maintains a respectful harassmentfree environment supportive of both staff and student learning.
Attends all required staff training sessions.
Qualifications :
Bachelors Degree from a four-year college or university.
Two to three years related work experience preferred.
Experience working with diverse youth.
A valid drivers license in the state of employment with an acceptable driving record.
