You will take on a central role in driving and strengthening our operations. Through strategic supplier relationships and wellfunctioning supply chains we create the foundation for our technological solutions. You will collaborate closely with key internal stakeholders and external partners in a complex and businesscritical part of the industry where decisions have real impact and where you can truly leave your mark.Your mission: Building strong supplier partnershipsAs a Strategic Purchaser you will be responsible for managing and developing supplier relationships at a strategic level to ensure an optimal supply chain cost efficiency and strong collaboration with both internal stakeholders and external suppliers.Your task is to ensure that Leica consistently delivers highquality products and supplies by managing and negotiating commercial relationships and maintaining and optimizing our supplier portfolio.You will have a role with a broad interface working closely across local and global functions - particularly with Quality Planning and our suppliers. You will be a key player in translating Leicas needs into concrete solutions while contributing to procurement initiatives and our journey toward becoming a fully integrated partner in the global procurement network.Your key responsibilities include:- Building and maintaining strong supplier relationships to ensure risk management availability quality and cost optimization
- Negotiating contracts pricing delivery performance and total cost of ownership (TCO)
- Maintaining supplier product and master data in SAP in collaboration with internal stakeholders
- Conducting ongoing evaluations and regular supplier reviews (BRM) to ensure compliance with commercial and regulatory standards
- Managing supplier deviations together with relevant stakeholders
- Providing escalation support to planning and procurement to identify alternative material sources
- Selecting evaluating and approving new suppliers in collaboration with Quality and in line with global procurement guidelines
- Leading procurement activities within cost savings and lifecycle management projects
- Implementing upcoming requirements across the supplier portfolio to ensure continuous compliance with import export and quality regulations (nationally and internationally)
- Driving continuous improvement initiatives across procurement processes and supplier management programs

Your background and experienceYou bring experience in strategic procurement and long term supplier management and understand how it creates business value.We expect you to hold a relevant educational background within procurement or supply chain preferably combined with experience from a manufacturing environment involving electronics or mechanical components.In addition you have:- Openness to learning and applying new IT tools
- Strong coordination organizational and communication skills
