NYU Shanghai invites applicants for a Postdoctoral Fellow position in Psychology starting in Spring or Fall 2026. The successful candidate will work closely with Dr. Gu Li on research programs examining stigma stress and health.
The fellow will contribute to cutting-edge research on stereotypes stigma stress and health disparities in the Chinese context through both secondary data analysis and new data collection. The position offers access to NYU Shanghais robust research infrastructure and professional development opportunities including travel funding and participation in a postdoctoral exchange program across NYUs Global Network.
Responsibilities include:
Collaborating on ongoing and new research projects
Leading and co-authoring innovative high-quality publications
Supporting grant proposal development
Participating in mentorship and professional development activities
The start date is flexible and can be arranged in consultation with the faculty supervisor subject to immigration regulations for non-Chinese applicants. The position is based in Shanghai China and is renewable for up to 2 years.Candidates must be within three years of their PhD degree conferral when their fellowship starts at NYU Shanghai.
Terms of employment at NYU Shanghai are comparable to NYU New York and other U.S. institutions.
Required qualifications:
Ph.D. in social psychology clinical or counseling psychology health psychology or a related field
Demonstrated research experience in areas such as stereotypes stigma stress or health disparities
Proven ability to design and conduct experimental research
Commitment to inclusive and equitable research and learning environments
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience supervising undergraduate or graduate students on research projects
Proficiency in advanced statistical modeling including structural equation modeling longitudinal analysis network analysis or machine-learning techniques
