Job Title: Adjunct Faculty English
Reporting Relationship: Chair Division of Modern Language Literature & Communication
Unit: IWU - Marion Campus
Department: Modern Language Literature & Communication Division
Campus Location: Elder Hall Marion Indiana
Summary of Position:Adjunct faculty are essential to providing a quality academic experience for Indiana Wesleyan University students. Adjuncts will employ a range of engaging teaching strategies designed to foster student learning and stimulate class discussion. Applicants must have appropriate academic or professional experience within the given academic discipline demonstrate a passion for teaching and learning and be able to integrate their Christian faith into the classroom content.
Duties and Responsibilities - Attend and lead all required class sessions
- Promptly assess student coursework and submit via Brightspace (the universitys learning management system)
- Coordinate with Division Chair and/or Academic Dean regarding classroom or student issues in a timely manner
Qualifications:According to Indiana Wesleyan University employment policy all employees must possess a strong Christian commitment and adhere to the standards outlined in the IWU Community Lifestyle Statement. |
Education - Master of Arts in English or related field
Experience - Teaching experience at the collegiate level is highly desired
Required Skills - Excellence in knowledge and skills in relation to the appropriate field(s)
- Competence in teaching ability along with an eagerness to improve
- A strong testimony of personal faith and commitment to Christ is essential along with an agreement to live according to the IWU Community Lifestyle Statement
