Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role

TeHerenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting fixed-term part-time Kaiwhakaako - Teaching Fellow in Health Psychology with Te Puna Hauora School of Health to teach across both Trimester 1 and Trimester 2 for 2026.

Key responsibilities:

  • To coordinate and deliver courses:
    • HLWB 205 Theory and Research in Health Psychology Trimester 1
    • HPSY 501 Health Psychology: Health and Wellbeing in Context Trimester 1
    • Marking and teaching support for the Health Psychology Programme Trimester 2
  • Attend course coordination meetings and other hui as required

Ō pūmanawa - About you

You will be a motivated student-focused individual with experience in health psychology tertiary education.

Key requirements:

  • A completed (or almost completed) PhD in a relevant field or other relevant qualifications commensurate with the role.
  • Demonstrated experience and evidence of successful teaching in a relevant field at tertiary level.
  • Enthusiasm for teaching and familiarity with innovation in learning and teaching practice.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including a demonstrated ability to communicate complex ideas and concepts efficiently and effectively.
  • Ability to work with others and to work independently with a minimum of supervision.
  • Demonstrated ability or clear potential to build and maintain appropriate professional working relationships or networks of contact.
  • Ability to coordinate and manage groups.
