Job Summary

Overview

We are designing the grid of the future!

Conduct IBR Dynamic Modeling studies which are particularly related to existing and future ERCOT and other regional reliability standards. This position will have specific emphasis placed on IBR plant dynamic modeling.

Responsibilities

Howyou can make an impact:

  • Perform detailed bulk power system studies using various power system software such as PSCAD PSSE and TSAT.
  • Conduct IBR modeling: steady state short circuit and dynamic.
  • Perform various compliance technical assessments on IBR facility rating protection coordination ride through assessment.
  • Process generate and maintain data as required for other engineering related studies.
  • Preparetechnical study reports for all studies performed.
  • Take responsibility for the timely completion of projects assigned while meeting all project quality and budget objectives.
  • Identify training needs and present them to the Engineering Manageras needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Bring your passion heres whats needed:

  • Masters degree in electrical engineering with an emphasis in power systems
  • 1 - 2 years of experience as a power systems engineer
  • Experience with performing power system impact studies such as Steady State Short Circuit and Dynamic Stability
  • Experience with power systems software such as PSCAD PSSE and TSAT
  • Experience with automating/programing in Python

Location: This position will be remote US or Canada

Travel: Occasional travel may be needed (10% or less)
