This is a Stanford Health Care job.A Brief OverviewUnder the direction of the Supply Chain Manager for Pharmacy Services the Procurement Assistant Pharmacy Services is responsible for the management of pharmaceutical procurement storage distribution purchasing inventory control charges of all medications & related items stocked in the hospital off site locations and the Pharmacy Department. This position also partakes in addressing drug shortages and recalls and is responsible for maintaining appropriate inventory levels of all medications and supplies and make major decision in purchasing while complying with budget limitations achieving maximum contract compliance and inventory turnover rate. The Procurement Assistant Pharmacy Srevices will assist in the departments compliance with all state and federal regulatory entities.

What you will do- Assists with Supply Chain Activities receiving of goods distribution purchasing recalls drug shortages and reverse logistics.
- Assists with Accounts Payable transactions contracts and vendor management.
- Assist internal customers with their supply equipment and service procurement needs.
- Initiate contact with prospective suppliers ensure confidentiality agreements are in place request pricing review quotes product availability terms of sales and lead times.
- Prepare and process requisitions and purchase orders for supplies and materials necessary for operation of the department.
- Ensures good storage conditions of all items in the pharmacy.
- Ensure that all stock management and procurement is done and maintained within SHC protocols.
- Assists in the evaluation of new supplies. Conducts trial studies as directed and maintains records.
- Participate in the monitoring and documenting of quality improvement issues.
- Assists Managers in the evaluation of new supplies. Maintains active and complete purchasing requisition files and updated price lists.
- Receives shipments verifies invoices prepares and files related paperwork.
Education Qualifications- High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
Experience Qualifications- One (1) year of progressively responsible and directly related work experience or 6 months Pharmacy Technician Externship completed at Stanford Health Care Department of Pharmacy.
- One (1) year Inventory Management Experience
Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities- Good Negotiating skills strong mathematical and analytical skills.
- Knowledge of purchasing & contracting policies laws and regulations.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities.
- Experience with Microsoft Office McKesson Connect Cardinal MacroHelix and Lawson.
- Good Interpersonal Skills. Effective communication skills: both verbal and written.
- Detail Oriented & strong organizational skills.
Licenses and Certifications- CPHT - Cert Pharmacy Tech required .
