Job Summary
Your mission
- Provision of scientific and technical leadership to multidisciplinary teams to achieve corporate goals for challenging research projects within early-stage drug discovery on membrane proteins
- Responsibility for supervising a small team of research associates
- Establishing and managing research projects within the field of membrane proteins (GPCRs ion-channels transporters) and challenging soluble proteins
- Evaluation and implementation of new technology and/or equipment to constantly improve the membrane protein platform
- Preparation of all relevant project documentation (i.e. project plans SOPs scientific presentations technical reports)
- Presentation of the scientific results as well as convincing and confident communication of the content to colleagues customers and business partners
Your profile
- PhD in biochemistry or related field with an excellent proven track record
- A minimum of 2 years working experience in the pharmaceutical industry preferably in the area of membrane proteins
- Strong acquaintance with regard to structure-based construct design expression and purification of membrane proteins and soluble proteins
- Profound knowledge in structural biology e.g. Xray and/or cryoEM
- Hands-on experience in expression and purification of membrane and soluble proteins in bacterial insect and/or mammalian cells for structural and biophysical applications
- Hands-on mentality with a problem-solving mindset and attention to details
- Independent service-oriented way of working with an outstanding team spirit and excellent organization and communication skills
