Staff Product Designer, Design Systems

As a Staff Product Designer youll lead the next evolution of our multi-brand design system serving our users and supporting product teams across Lending Enterprise and Debt Relief to drive operational efficiency across our ecosystem. This is a high-impact role that directly contributes to strengthening our brand presence improving cross-product consistency and enabling AI-powered design capabilities. 

As the design lead for our design system team youll partner closely with cross functional partners in Product Engineering Design Brand and Marketing. Youll be responsible for establishing strategic direction creating cohesive design patterns enabling and driving adoption of the design system and supporting teams across multiple business units. 

What youll do: 

• Lead the strategic vision and roadmap for the design system aligning with organizational goals around brand strength consistency efficiency and AI enablement.

• Partner with Product Management and Engineering to prioritize design system initiatives based on team requests business impact and technical feasibility. 

• Drive adoption metrics and measure the design systems impact on team velocity consistency and cost reduction.

• Establish and maintain design tokens components patterns and best practices that scale across brands and products.

• Create comprehensive usage guidelines design principles and implementation details that enable teams and AI tools to leverage the design system effectively.

• Establish and evolve governance frameworks that balance consistency with product team velocity.

• Build strong relationships with designers product managers and engineers across all business units and facilitate contribution from product teams through clear processes.

• Ensure accessibility and performance standards are baked into components.

• Advocate for systems thinking across the organization.

• Mentor other designers and support their growth through guidance feedback and setting an example of best practices. 

Qualifications :

What youll bring:

• 7 years of product design experience with at least 2 years focused on design systems. 

• Proven track record of building and scaling design systems in organizations with multiple products or brands.

• Experience managing design system adoption measuring impact and driving organizational change.

• Expert knowledge of design system principles component architecture and design tokens.

• Strong proficiency in Figma including variables components and organizational best practices.

• Deep understanding of accessibility standards and inclusive design practices.

• Demonstrate a high bar of quality in both interaction & visual design and strong technical skills. 

• Experience collaborating with engineers on component development and an understanding of HTML CSS and component frameworks.

• Knowledgeable about new technologies and processes within the field of design. 

• Track-record of success working with a variety of cross-functional stakeholders and partners.

• Excellent communication presentation interpersonal and analytical skills. Ability to communicate complex interaction concepts clearly and persuasively across different audiences across the organization.

Nice to have:

• Experience with financial services fintech or regulated industries.

• Knowledge of AI-powered design tools and how to optimize design systems for AI integrations

• Experience in evangelizing consumer-centered thinking across all levels creating a vision and aligning teams to execute it.

• Background in brand management or multi-brand design systems

• Front end coding skills

We are proudly offering hybrid options in the San Mateo CA and Phoenix AZ metro other locations throughout the country we offer work from home.

Salary Range: $150000 to $170000 annually bonus benefits.
