Job Summary
At Datadog were on a mission to bring security and observability together for modern organizations. Bits AI for Security is our AI agent that leverages LLMs to help analysts investigate alerts understand threats and respond faster. Were looking for a product-minded AI Engineer to help us build the next generation of AI-driven security capabilities.

What Youll Do:
- Work closely with users security experts PMs and data scientists on cutting edge AI agents that drive real value for our customers
- Develop tools retrieval and planning strategies and guardrails; manage prompts/evals; design fallbacks and humanintheloop paths
- Collaborate with Product Design and partner teams to build cohesive experiences
- Prototype and see what works well iterate closely with our users and experts and then ship
- Follow the latest research on GenAI and AI agents
Who You Are:
- You have a BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science Engineering Artificial Intelligence or a related scientific field or equivalent experience
- Youre a backend engineer with at least 4 years of professional experience (Go Python Java etc.) who values code simplicity and performance
- You have relevant work experience with LLMs large-scale systems machine learning or adjacent fields. Youve shipped software that uses LLMs to production
- You want to work in a fast high-growth startup environment that values its engineers
- You are a good communicator and can drive hard technical conversations towards a pragmatic solution
- You have demonstrated ability to use AI coding tools in day-to-day workflows and validate critique and refine AI-generated output
Bonus Point:
- Excited to work in the security domain with an understanding of how analysts investigate threats and alerts
- Fluency with offline/online evals for AI systems; can build reliable golden sets and automatic regressions
- Experience scaling products in a high-growth SaaS environment
- Youre motivated to push the boundaries of how AI can improve software engineering best practices and contribute to building AI-enabled products
