Under the direction of the Manager Water and Wastewater this position is responsible for supporting the Public Works Department to meet service delivery needs. Responsibilities include support for backfilling activities research and analytical work and supporting operations staff with the completion of general and project-based initiatives within the Water and Wastewater facilities.

How you contribute to our organization:

• Document filing and scanning including but not limited to property files operations and maintenance manuals and all other environmental components within the records management retention schedule.
• Support Public Works administration staff with general customer inquiries via phone and email.
• Assist water and wastewater operators in performing regular maintenance duties at the towns water and wastewater facilities.
• Support Public Works staff with the review and verification of Essential Suppliers for Water and Wastewater.
• Support Public Works staff with gathering data for annual reports.
• Assist with updating process maps.
• Assist with letters for ICI customers regarding the Towns backflow prevention by-law.
• Assist with locating and saving as-built drawings for Water and Wastewater facilities.
• Attend meetings with Public Works staff in a learning capacity and supports e team in responding to general inquiries from the public.

What you bring to the team:

• Enrolled in college or university and pursing a diploma or degree in Environmental Engineering Applied Science or a related field of study.
• 1 year of previous work experience. 4-8 months working in a municipal environment preferred.
• Class G Drivers Licence in good standing is required.
• Strong word processing spreadsheet and database skills are required; familiarity with computer assisted mapping software programs is an asset.
• Excellent time management sound judgement and problem-solving skills required to support setting priorities and achieving timelines within a team-based environment.

Pay Rate: $20.05 to $22.27 plus 4% vacation pay and optional enrolment in OMERS pension plan
Hours: 35 Hours per week
Location: Brendan Holly Wastewater Treatment Facility - 6315 14th Line Alliston
Start Date: May 1 2026 to August 31 2026
