12-Month fixed-term opportunity
As Data & Information Lead you will play a critical role in the University of Aucklands multiyear Finance Transformation Programme one of the most significant change initiatives currently underway in the organisation. This programme is reshaping finance from a largely transactional function into a strategic insightdriven partner enabled by a new finance platform redesigned processes and a modern operating model.
In this role you will define and deliver the data strategy governance framework migration approach and technical architecture that underpin the programmes data workstream. You will lead data migration from legacy systems through to postgolive operations ensuring data integrity quality security and longterm fitness for purpose. Working across finance technology and programme teams you will enable trusted data for reporting analytics and decisionmaking while embedding strong data ownership and stewardship practices.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading data strategy governance and ownership models across finance systems and business domains.
- Designing and executing largescale finance data migration including mapping cleansing validation reconciliation and cutover readiness.
- Defining targetstate finance data models and master data structures (e.g. chart of accounts projects employees).
- Ensuring data quality security and compliance throughout the programme lifecycle and into businessasusual operations.
- Partnering with business technology and integration teams to ensure data integrity across interfaces and reporting solutions.
- Supporting testing phases (SIT UAT) defect resolution and postimplementation data stability.
This is a 12-Month fixed term full-time role (37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday) with a salary range of $165000 - $171000 per annum depending on experience.

He kōrero mōu About You
You are an experienced data and information professional who has led or been deeply involved in largescale finance transformation or platform migration programmes. You bring a strong grasp of finance data confidence working across complex stakeholder environments and the ability to balance strategic thinking with handson delivery.
You will bring:
- Proven experience (5 years) in data architecture governance or migration ideally within finance transformation or ERP/EFP implementations.
- Handson expertise in finance data mapping modelling cleansing and reconciliation with a strong eye for detail and data integrity.
- Experience working through full programme lifecycles including testing cutover and postgolive stabilisation.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the credibility to work across finance IT integration analytics and programme delivery teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills able to translate complex data concepts for technical and nontechnical audiences.
- A structured methodical approach to problemsolving with a commitment to quality governance and continuous improvement.
- A relevant tertiary qualification in data information systems finance or a related discipline; sector experience or formal certifications are advantageous but not essential.
