Job Summary

Position Summary...

This position is responsible for strategically leading the Outdoor and Sports portfolio (Outdoors and Sports Fitness & Fun Departments) which accounts for a significant portion of the Merchandising business. This includes creating and implementing portfolio strategies to increase sales decrease expenses increase Return on Investment (ROI) and optimize inventory and SKU/Space for customer and shareholder value and satisfaction.

What youll do...

Key Priorities:
Merchandising Portfolio Strategy: Provides direction for merchandising initiatives that are aligned with Omni SBU merchandising goals; ensures the aesthetic quality and trends for each product support customer needs; ensures merchant leadership alignment with creative brands and products; and monitors the annual budget deployment as business needs trends and customer behavior change.
Customer Experience and Shopping Habits: Provides a world-class customer experience by offering a range of high-quality high-value products through all channels (e.g. in-store Walmart Marketplace Walmart Fulfillment Service etc.) Ensure that merchandise is presented consistently across all channels (e.g. Feature and Modular Presentation Walmart App Homepage Department Pages and Item Pages etc.) to deliver an experience that drives sales customer conversion and customer satisfaction.
P&L Accountability: Accountable for the portfolios P&L within the context of the Omni SBU Merchandising strategy. Leads efforts to increase portfolio profitability by managing costs and delivering industry-leading pricing.
Partnership with Leaders: Collaborates with other Senior Leaders to ensure that the Merchandising strategy is in sync with the other business unit strategies (e.g. Operations; Replenishment Marketing). Collaborates with the Merchandising Operations and eCommerce Merchandising Operations teams to achieve Omni SBU Merchandising objectives in an efficient and effective manner.
Marketing Differentiation and Competitive Advantage: Understands the competitive landscape and competitive advantage of the portfolio in order to create market differentiation and competitive advantage. Continuously inspects and adapts to the Omni retail environments evolution. Continually provides new experiences to customers in order to increase market share wallet share and customer retention.
Pricing Strategies: Ensures that pricing strategies support portfolio objectives to drive ROI and market share growth while maintaining the companys reputation for price leadership. Utilizes intelligence gleaned from pricing analytics to inform pricing strategy decisions.
Supplier Relations: Ensures the quality of supplier relationships within portfolios by advising and leading Merchants Senior Merchants and Merchandising Directors. Engages with senior supplier leadership to build collaborative and mutually beneficial relationships across the portfolio.
Merchandising Complexity: Manages a portfolio of related categories with a moderate volume and complexity (e.g. assortment complexity supply chain complexity managerial responsibility sourcing requirements industry standards customer expectations etc.)

The annual salary range for this position is $225000.00 - $500000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :
- Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) (based on location)

Minimum Qualifications...

Outlined below are the required minimum qualifications for this position. If none are listed there are no minimum qualifications.

Option 1: Bachelors degree in Business Administration Finance Supply Chain Management or related field and 10 years experience in merchandising financial planning replenishment management retail operations management or related area.
Option 2: 12 years experience in merchandising financial planning replenishment management retail operations management or related area. 8 years supervisory experience. 8 years experience with profit-and-loss responsibility. As permitted by applicable law provide evidence of full vaccination as defined by CDC guidelines OR secure approval of medical or religious accommodation for the vaccination mandate.
