The Class 5 5-ton City Pick up & Delivery driver is responsible for:
- Completing local deliveries within Prince Albert and the surrounding area in a timely and efficient manner
- Operating and maintaining a 5-ton delivery truck in accordance with company policies and local regulations
- Planning and optimizing delivery routes to ensure on-time performance and fuel efficiency
- Loading and unloading cargo safely using proper lifting techniques and equipment when necessary
- Verifying shipments against delivery orders and reporting any discrepancies
- Collecting signatures on a handheld tracking device and payments for deliveries when required
- Maintaining accurate logs of on-duty hours mileage and vehicle maintenance on an ELD
- Conducting pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety and compliance
- Communicating effectively with dispatch customers and team members
- Adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations while representing the company professionally
- Dock duties as needed.
- Reporting any accidents injuries or safety concerns immediately to management
- Maintaining a clean and organized vehicle at all times
- Participating in regular safety meetings and training sessions
A normal work week will be Monday to Friday; however some flexibility in availability will occasionally be required to meet delivery demands and customer needs.
Qualifications :
- Class 5 license
- 1 year of Pick-up & Delivery experience
- Experience with handheld delivery tracking devices and Electronic Log Devices is an asset
- Reliable and dependable
- TDG WHMIS and Forklift experience are assets
- Must be able to provide a criminal record check drivers abstract and 2 work-related references.
