UPHS Marquette is a 222 bed hospital in Marquette MI and houses the regions only Level II Trauma Center and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). How youll contribute

A Licensed Plumber Inspects installs repairs and replaces pipes fittings and plumbing fixtures to maintain the heating water gas and drainage systems of hospital facilities.

Qualifications and requirements

Education- 2 years post high school vocational/ specialized training required

Required Skills
Requires critical thinking skills decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Licenses
Licensed Plumber Required.
Valid driver license Required

Minimum Work Experience
3 years related work experience Required

Essential functions:

  • Installs repairs and maintains plant plumbing systems including domestic hot and cold water sewer and drain systems and their related equipment devices and fixtures.
  • Installs repairs and maintains other plumbing related systems including hydronic and steam heating systems chilled water-cooling systems lawn sprinkler systems and their related equipment devices and fixtures.
  • Installs repairs and maintains specialty systems including RO and de-ionized water systems medical gas systems fire protection systems and their related equipment devices and fixtures.
  • Troubleshoots problems in plumbing and mechanical equipment and systems.
  • Assembles installs repairs and maintains other various Mechanical systems and equipment.
  • Assists and acts as a resource for other maintenance staff with regard to mechanical and plumbing problems and issues
  • Reads interprets and utilizes blueprints and schematics as required for job performance.
  • Utilizes applicable plumbing mechanical and building codes.
