Description

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead Specific: This position is responsible for coordinating the flow and dispatch processes to transport all inpatients to and from the department for their imaging.
  • Coordinates the patient tracking and information system in collaboration with the dispatch command center to receive record dispatch respond to and complete patient transport requests.
  • Acts as the liaison between the transporters and the clinical teams they support during the shift; must be an excellent communicator and be able to manage phone requests and inquiries while also maintaining the continuous flow and requests for dispatch.
  • Coordinates distribution repair and maintenance of transportation equipment including but not limited to phones stretchers wheelchairs and MRI compatible equipment if applicable.
  • General Transport: Assists with patient transportation in times of high volume and/or staffing shortages.
  • Responds immediately to emergency patient situations; initiates emergency life-saving techniques such as CPR using high quality resuscitation Basic Life Support.
  • Individuals in Radiology are required to complete MRI Safety training and follow safety measures when transporting patients to and from MRI and have knowledge of proper use of MRI compatible equipment.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • The ability to lift push and pull 75 pounds.
  • BLS certification upon hiring.
