A Fixed Income Real Estate Intern is offered the opportunity to support the research and analysis functions for the Fixed Income Securitized Public and Private Debt and Commercial Mortgage Loans teams. Interns will participate in a rotational program between these two teams providing exposure to ABS CLOs CMBS MBS and Commercial Mortgage Loans specifically focused on underwriting commercial real estate debt to fit in the parameters of a Fortune 500 investment division.
Position Responsibilities:
Provide real estate and capital market research support for analyzing and underwriting bond and mortgage investments.
Monitoring credit risk and performance of existing investment holdings.
Review due diligence documents associated with the origination and closing of mortgage investments.
Perform independent research on industries and sectors within the real estate and fixed income markets.
Participate and contribute to all aspects of the investment process including meetings with issuers and management.
Required Job Qualifications:
Rising (juniors and) seniors with a demonstrated history of strong academic performance who are pursuing a Real Estate degree.
Working knowledge of accounting finance corporate strategy real estate and financial statistics with a working knowledge of underwriting commercial properties.
Strong written and verbal communication analytical problem-solving decision-making and mathematical skills.
Ability to take work direction from various leaders as well as work independently.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite including Excel. Experience with Argus and investment tools such as FactSet Aladdin and/or Bloomberg is a plus.
Ability to work full time during the summer.
