Our world-class dynamic Marketing & Business Development (M&BD) department is looking for the right candidate to serve as the Coordinator for our Americas Litigation Arbitration & Employment (LAE) practice. This position will sit in the Washington D.C. office.

This position supports plans and executes the marketing and business development activities for the LAE Americas Practice by working closely with litigation arbitration and investigations lawyers in Hogan Lovells Americas region and other M&BD team members to help drive firm priorities and overall firm strategy.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The role is integral in helping to implement and drive forward programs supporting our Litigation Arbitration and Employment practice group priorities in the Americas and globally. The Coordinators responsibilities fall into three major areas of focus:

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

  • Primary responsibility for the writing editing and formatting of pitches and proposals in coordination with lawyers and other M&BD colleagues to respond to pitch opportunities and RFPs in a coordinated strategic and timely way.
  • Helping partners execute their client development programs including relationship nurturing (events thought leadership mailings social media postings etc.) and pursuing new business opportunities.
  • Working with partners to develop and execute targeted programs to raise their and the firms profile to generate cross-selling and business opportunities through award submissions multi-channel campaigns internal promotion and external PR/social media.
  • Contribute to the development implementation measurement and reporting of strategic BD programs.
  • Support on other strategic business development and promotional initiatives as needed.

RESEARCH

  • Research and draft business summaries and client dossiers on specific client targets using 10-ks and the firms research tools including Lexis Context and D&B Hoovers to aid in the development of marketing programs trend forecasting and pitch strategy
  • Read industry legal and business publications to remain aware of trends that may impact the practice and to identify promotional opportunities.

MARKETING

  • Assist in the creation and regular update of marketing collateral including Web content brochures practice group descriptions and credentials matter descriptions and biographies.
  • Support the creation and distribution of thought leadership such as client alerts industry outlooks or practice guides through careful project management content production and promotion via mass mailings digital media posting and internal newsletters and alerts.
  • Support submissions to major award programs as needed by working with partners to draft descriptions that feature key legal matters and identification of client references in adherence to fixed deadlines.
  • Contribute to building quality data resources that enable more efficient marketing by regularly inputting relevant data (matters pitches contact lists) to firm systems including Salesforce and Foundation.
  • Support logistical execution and programmatic planning for events that strategically support business development objectives for partners and LAE sub-practice groups.
  • Participate in the firms global Responsible Business program.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Experience in supporting client development and new business development programs to build and nurture relationships and generate demand for services including pitch and proposal development.
  • Strong client service-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to think critically and demonstrate a can-do attitude with a high level of initiative and an openness to feedback.
  • Pragmatic diplomatic and resourceful with the ability to adapt quickly to different situations and personalities and work well under pressure.
  • Strong organizational skills and an ability to prioritize and complete simultaneous projects with minimal supervision.
  • Experience working independently as well as within cross-functional teams in a collaborative professional environment.
  • Excellent researching writing and presentation skills and an exacting attention to detail in all work product.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word Excel PowerPoint); experience with marketing AI applications is a plus.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Three (3) years of relevant experience preferred preferably in a law firm or analogous professional services organization.
  • Bachelors degree required with a focus in marketing communications or related field preferred.

HOURS

Core hours are Monday through Friday 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. including lunch hour. Must be flexible to work overtime as needed. This position follows a hybrid schedule with four days in the office and one day working remotely from home.

In Washington D.C. the annualized salary range for this position is $62000 to $77000 depending on the candidates overall experience and other job-related factors permitted by law. Full time employees may be eligible for a discretionary addition full time employees as well as some part time employees will be eligible for the firms fringe benefits as they currently exist.
