POSITION SUMMARY
TheSubstitute Teacher - Secondary Schoolis responsible for ensuring the academic program continuity for students in grades 6 through 12 often focusing on subject-specific coverage. It is the role of the Substitute Teacher to be sure that all students are safe secure and properly supervised at all times maintaining an academic and respectful learning environment. This position requires demonstrating the competencies and behaviors needed to deliver expert-level content instruction and to support the core values vision and mission of Rochambeau.

Assume the duties and responsibilities of the regularly assigned teacher delivering planned lessons particularly in specialized academic areas
Provide coverage with expertise in one or more subjects includingMath Sciences(Chemistry Biology Physics General Science)English Literature/LanguageFrench Literature/Language History/Geography Technology and Economics
Manage the classroom environment and student conduct adhering to secondary school policies
Communicate effectively with the department heads or relevant supervisory staff regarding lesson progression and student issues
Adapt to frequent assignments across various grades (Middle and High School) and within several different subjects
Possess dynamism and an unceasing energy for new challenges demonstrating a strong sense of teamwork
Perform additional duties consistent with the scope and intent of the position as assigned
Possess a 4-year bachelors degree or higher
1 years of teaching experience
Demonstrate expertise in one or more core academic subjects (as listed above)
Excellent command of the French language both written and spoken.The majority of subjects use French as the language of instruction.
Well-developed and effective communication skills (oral and written) and strong human relations skills; ability to work well with other teachers support staff parents and members of the community
Ability to maintain confidentiality and security of information
Regular predictable and reliable attendance at work
Computer and technological literacy

Preferred Requirements:
Advanced degree in a relevant field (e.g. Secondary Education or in a specific subject area)
Bilingual French/English language proficiency
Secondary teaching experience and/or Teacher Certification
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This position primarily operates in a school environment. The role requires prolonged periods of sitting bending walking and standing extensive use of computers and other office equipment and occasional lifting or moving of equipment up to 25 pounds.
