If so then consider the role of AVP Health & Dental. This role reports to the VP Group Benefits & Disability Operations overseeing a team of 500 Health & Dental employees across multiple geographies.
What you will be doing
- People leadership: Oversee a team of 500 Health & Dental Claims Operations team fostering a high-performance culture
- Member Experience: Drive service excellence address escalated claims issues and champion initiatives that enhance satisfaction for plan sponsors and members.
- Operational Excellence: Oversee end-to-end Health & Dental Claims process ensuring quality efficiency accuracy and compliance. Develop KPIs dashboards and reporting frameworks.
- CDCP Operations Ownership: Provide executive operational oversight for the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP) block of business ensuring operational readiness service excellence and scalability to meet evolving program volumes and policy requirements.
- Automation Process and Technology Transformation: Champion process automation straight-through processing digital tools and analytics to streamline workflows reduce cycle times and improve member experience. Own and execute the Health & Dental Claims automation roadmap aligning operational priorities with enterprise digital and AI strategies to materially reduce manual touchpoints and cost-to-serve in partnership with Transformation & Enablement Technology and CXO teams.
- Risk & Compliance: Ensure that claims operations adhere to all applicable federal and provincial regulations industry standards and internal governance frameworks.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Build strong partnerships with internal functions (Sun Life Health Client Care Centre Client Experience Office Finance Technology Legal Compliance) and external partners including TPAs providers and service vendors to align operational goals and deliver outstanding outcomes.
What you need to succeed
- 15 years experience with senior leadership experience in transformation technology and operations .
- Have a demonstrated ability to manage large complex operations with high transaction volumes and tight service-level expectations. Bring strong financial and analytical acumen with experience managing cost drivers accuracy metrics and operational risk across multiple geographies.
- University degree in a related field such as business engineering or operations research or relevant senior experience
- Proven track record of successful delivery of complex multi-year programs on time and on budget
- Strong financial and business acumen analytical and client focused
- Passion for innovation and a proven track record of leading operational transformation and digitization initiatives; experience implementing generative AI solutions an asset
- As this position is posted in several locations we specify that bilingualism (French English both oral and written) is required for Quebec only for the frequent interactions with English and French-speaking colleagues or internal partners across Canada or worldwide.

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted.
