Job Description
Position Summary:
The Operations Coordinator fills a key role in planning and monitoring production to ensure efficient operation and timely delivery of products to our customers. This person will report to the Plant Manager and will have multiple responsibilities within the manufacturing plant. This includes inventory management work order maintenance production scheduling reporting and analysis SQF/Food Safety and Quality Lab oversight. The Operations Coordinator is expected to provide leadership and organization in a small production facility.
Pay Range: $27 - $31/hr
Essential Functions & Key Responsibilities:
- Work daily with production on job status material consumption and reporting.
- Develop and adjust production schedule for plastic extrusion printing presses and slitters.
- Manage raw material and consumable supply inventories to ensure materials are available when needed. Accurately track and report inventory.
- Identify upcoming scheduling challenges and develop recommendations to address at-risk orders.
- Oversee the development implementation review and maintenance of the SQF System including food safety fundamentals outlined the SQF Code.
- Take appropriate action to ensure the integrity of the SQF System.
- Communicate to relevant personnel all information essential to ensure the effective implementation maintenance and daily processing of the SQF System.
- Communicate and coordinate with Operations Distribution Sales and Customer Service to prioritize and plan.
- Drive continuous improvement to work methods flows and processes.
- Develop and update production reporting and analysis tools such as production rates by product downtime analysis and schedule attainment.
- Provide data and results for daily weekly and month-end reports.
- Develop and maintain work order system for every customer order.
- Generate proper documentation labels placards etc. as necessary for each job.
- Continuously perform all required tasks in a safe manner adhering to all established safety rules and procedures. Must take immediate action to correct and/or report any unsafe conditions and hazards.
- Ensure adherence to quality practices such as proper record-keeping and raw material lot tracking.
- Oversees lab and quality procedures and personnel.
- Follow all PPE policies wearing steel toed shoes hearing protection safety glasses hair nets/beard nets etc. as required.
Candidate Requirements:
- Prior experience as a production scheduler preferred.
- Bachelors degree preferred.
- 3 or more years of experience in a related field preferred
- Experience in an industrial environment preferred.
- Experience using Microsoft Office products specifically Word Excel and Access
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Eligible to work in the United States
- Successful completion of pre-employment background and drug screen
- Ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without accommodation.
