Job Overview
A healthcare facility is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for the Surgical Stay Unit. This night-shift position supports post-surgical patients and requires strong clinical skills adaptability and prior leadership experience. The RN may be asked to float to comparable units based on hospital needs.
Key Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive nursing care to post-surgical patients in the Surgical Stay Unit
Monitor patient conditions administer medications and perform nursing assessments
Collaborate with physicians surgical teams and interdisciplinary staff to ensure continuity of care
Serve as charge nurse when assigned and provide guidance to support staff
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with hospital policies
Float to units within skillset as required by hospital staffing needs
Ensure compliance with all safety infection control and clinical standards
Requirements
Minimum 2 years of RN experience in the specialty or a similar unit
Previous charge nurse experience required
Active RN license (state requirements apply)
Ability to work night shifts including weekends as scheduled
Strong clinical judgment communication and teamwork skills
Additional Details
No on-call requirements
Any scrub color permitted for the unit
Blocked scheduling allowed but not guaranteed (based on unit needs)
