The Team
Just Walk Out Technology is more start-up than big-company a group of entrepreneurial analytical and creative leaders with innovation at our core. Were pushing the state of the art in helping customers shop in engaging fast and safe ways. To date weve created stores that let you use a credit card to enter take what you want from our fresh selection and go (Amazon Go); that uses computer vision algorithms and sensor fusion to let you skip the checkout line.

Our checkout-free shopping experience is made possible by our Just Walk Out Technology which automatically detects when products are taken from or returned to the shelves and keeps track of them in a virtual cart. The Role: Everyone on the team needs to be entrepreneurial wear many hats and work in a highly collaborative environment thats more startup than big company. Well tackle problems that span a variety of domains: computer vision image recognition machine learning real-time and distributed systems.

You should be comfortable with a degree of ambiguity thats higher than most projects and relish the idea of solving problems that frankly havent been solved at scale before - anywhere. You will tackle challenging novel situations every day and given the size of this initiative youll have the opportunity to work with multiple technical teams at Amazon in different locations. Along the way we guarantee that youll learn a ton have fun and make a positive impact on millions of people.

Key job responsibilities
- Work with engineering research product and ops to translate business requirements into technical/functional specifications.
- Define technical roadmap for engineering teams by working with Software development managers.
- Support launch of our Just Walk Out technology on new product selection stores and formats.
- Provide regular updates to leadership on program status and risks.
- Build project plans balancing business needs with project risks and resource availability.
- Drive engineering project execution make technical trade-offs track and report on status and resolve blocking issues.
- Coordinate cross-team efforts spanning research algorithms and dozens of services.
- Assist with recruiting hiring process and growing the team.

You will be a part of the Amazon Just Walk Out teams Engineering team. The team is responsible for productionizing new algorithms and building the Machine Learning platform that enables new selection and store formats with the Just Walk Out experience.

- 5 years of technical product or program management experience
- 7 years of working directly with engineering teams experience
- 3 years of software development experience
- 5 years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams experience
- Experience managing programs across cross functional teams building processes and coordinating release schedules

- 5 years of project management disciplines including scope schedule budget quality along with risk and critical path management experience
- Experience managing projects across cross functional teams building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules
- Experience defining KPIs/SLAs used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience qualifications and location.
