Amazon Leo is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world.
One of the most ambitious missions that Leo has undertaken to date the Leo satellite constellation is our solution to providing reliable internet to around the world. We are looking for talented technicians to help process Leo satellites to prepare them for launch into Low Earth Orbit.

Export Control Requirement:
Due to applicable export control laws and regulations candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national U.S. permanent resident (i.e. current Green Card holder) or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Candidates must be 18 years or older with the ability to understand and adhere to all job requirements and safety guidelines.
Key job responsibilities
Lead a team of technicians as the subject matter expert on all processes within your area of responsibility on second shift
Champion safety requirements in all designated zones and work locations
Successfully lead process work and review for quality and adherence to standards and procedures.
Independently execute and prioritize work to meet production schedules
Integration and test of the Kuiper satellite and various complex subassemblies in a cleanroom and Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) controlled environment
Rigging and critical lifts of bulky sensitive flight hardware
Able to obtain and maintain licenses operator permits and/or certifications as required.
Use precision calibrated tools torque wrenches multimeters optical inspection devices micrometers and dial calipers
Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation
Perform work according to procedures specifications and test instructions
Run functional and environmental testing on units including some basic troubleshooting operations
Use computer software programs for controlling tests
Check and inspect your work after completion to ensure engineering and quality standards are met per the drawing and work instruction requirements
Collaborate with manufacturing engineers to develop and document activities including continuous improvement opportunities
Perform other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring an efficient safe and effective work environment
This is a 2nd shift position but shift schedule may vary depending on production/launch schedules.
Must be willing and able to perform extended travel up to 25% annually either domestically or internationally as business needs demand.
A day in the life
The Process Lead will work closely with cross-functional engineering test quality and operations teams on flight hardware integration processes. This position requires skill and experience in a variety of areas including mechanical assembly propellent loading rigging electrical checkouts and satellite short you will be responsible for a majority of the most critical tasks to process and integrate the Leo satellite for launch ensuring high quality workmanship and safety standards are adhered to on a daily basis.

- High School diploma or equivalent
- 4 years of experience in mechanical or electrical hardware assembly test and/or installation
- Able to obtain and maintain a US Passport and must meet customs entry requirements to include but not limited to: Yellow Fever vaccine and other immunization requirements as recommended by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention
- Able to pass Kennedy Space Center background checks
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment Experience in the aerospace industry automotive industry medical device industry aviation military or other high-reliability operating environment
- Experience in a fast-paced processing environment Experience working with Foreign Object Debris (FOD) ESD sensitive hardware and clean room requirements
- Experience with forklifts cranes rigging and heavy equipment (including previous certifications)
- A demonstrated ability in reading/understanding technical drawings work instructions and standard operating procedures
- Ability to use multiple types of precision measuring instruments
- Ability to rapidly change roles/responsibilities while working in a high-paced challenging work environment
- Able to stand for long periods of time and perform repetitive assembly operations
- Able to climb and down ladders work in tight spaces bending grasping sitting pulling pushing stooping and stretching may be required to perform the functions of this position
- Able to lift at least 25 lbs. unassisted

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience qualifications and location.
