We are seeking a caring enthusiastic and dedicated EYFS Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Didcot. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting young children at the very start of their educational journey and helping them develop confidence independence and a love of learning.

The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher and Early Years team to support children in Nursery and Reception. You will play a key role in delivering high-quality learning experiences aligned with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework supporting childrens communication language physical development and personal social and emotional development.

You will support children through play-based learning structured activities and daily routines both individually and in small groups. Creating a safe nurturing and stimulating environment will be central to your role ensuring children feel secure and supported throughout the school day.

Observation and assessment will form part of your responsibilities as you support the teacher in monitoring childrens progress and identifying next steps. You will also assist with preparing learning resources maintaining an organised classroom and supporting transitions outdoor learning and personal care where required.

Strong relationships with children colleagues and parents are highly valued. You will work collaboratively with the wider Early Years team to maintain high standards of learning care and safeguarding.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support learning through play-based EYFS activities

  • Work with individual children and small groups

  • Assist with observations and assessments

  • Help maintain a safe stimulating learning environment

  • Support childrens social emotional and personal development

  • Promote positive behaviour and independence

The successful candidate will have:

  • Experience working with young children or in EYFS

  • A nurturing patient and enthusiastic approach

  • Good communication and teamwork skills

  • Understanding of the EYFS framework (desirable)

  • Commitment to safeguarding and child wellbeing
