About the Position
A welcoming and inclusive mainstream primary school in Hackney East London is currently recruiting a committed SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with additional learning needs. This is a full-time long-term role offering stability development and the chance to work within a well-established SEN support framework.
The role involves supporting pupils across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 with a variety of needs including Autism ADHD SEMH speech and language delays and mild learning difficulties. Some pupils have EHCPs while others require targeted intervention and emotional support throughout the school day.

Your Role as an SEN Teaching Assistant
You will play a vital role in ensuring SEN pupils are able to access the curriculum and thrive socially and emotionally. Key duties include:
Providing tailored 1:1 support to pupils with SEN
Supporting small group interventions in literacy numeracy and social skills
Assisting pupils with emotional regulation and behaviour management
Implementing personalised learning strategies
Supporting classroom routines and transitions
Working closely with teachers to differentiate lessons
Supporting pupils during break times to promote positive social interaction
Monitoring progress and providing feedback to teaching staff
Helping pupils develop independence and resilience
Maintaining a safe and supportive environment at all times
