Job Summary
The person will work on average 6 hours per week. The person is a friendly reliable community member who helps create a welcoming well-organized and engaging lobby environment. The Lobby Navigators core role is helping more people get engaged in our group workshops and events as well as in individual therapy resource navigation and other services. The Lobby Navigator does this by getting to know community members and actively encouraging them to participate in on-site health-related activities and programs that are the right fit for them. The ultimate goal of this role is simple but important: help more people feel comfortable informed and motivated to engage in health activities offered at the Hub.
Services to be performed:
- Welcome and engage community members as they enter the Hub
- Provide clear friendly information about available activities and services
- Encourage participation in morning health activities through conversation and relationship-building
- With other staff and volunteers help manage the flow of people and activities in the lobby to ensure the space feels calm safe and organized
- Support appropriate use of shared space and gently redirect as needed
- Serve as a visible approachable presence during assigned hours
- Communicate observations patterns or issues to Hub staff as appropriate
- Conduct surveying periodically
Requirements of Facilitator:
- Member of the Highlands neighborhood or surrounding community
- Have a warm outgoing personality and enjoy talking with people
- Be comfortable engaging a wide range of community members
- Set respectful boundaries while remaining welcoming
- Be dependable punctual and self-directed
- Have strong informal communication skills
- Be sensitive to cultural norms of a client
- Maintains confidentiality of client situations you may learn in this role
- Performs other capacities as needed
