Summary of Job Duties:
Reporting to the Vice Chancellor for Enrollment Management the Director of Transfer and Adult Services serves as the Universitys chief administrator responsible for transfer student success and adult learner engagement. The Director provides strategic leadership for the development implementation and continuous improvement of transfer pathways articulation agreements onboarding processes and support services designed to promote persistence retention and degree completion.
The Director will work collaboratively with academic leadership advising units the Registrar and community college partners to ensure that UAPB is a destination institution for transfer and adult students and that credit mobility is transparent efficient and student-centered.
The Director of Transfer and Adult Services is responsible for executing the following duties and responsibilities in partnership with appropriate stakeholders:
Strategic Leadership and Program Development
Provide strategic leadership for UAPBs transfer and adult student initiatives in alignment with institutional enrollment and student success goals.
Design and implement a comprehensive Transfer and Adult Student Strategy that supports onboarding persistence and degree completion.
Serve as the institutional subject-matter expert on transfer student success and adult learner engagement.
Establish policies procedures and service standards that ensure a consistent and student-centered experience.
Transfer Articulation and Academic Collaboration
Lead the development review and execution of articulation agreements with community colleges and other partner institutions.
Collaborate with deans department chairs and faculty to align curricula and ensure timely evaluation of transfer credit.
Work closely with the Registrar to ensure accurate and efficient transcript evaluation and posting of transfer credit.
Maintain and publish clear transfer pathways degree maps and program equivalencies for prospective and current students.
Monitor articulation effectiveness and recommend improvements to reduce excess credits and time to degree.
Transfer and Adult Student Onboarding
Oversee comprehensive onboarding programs for transfer and adult learners including orientation advising handoff and academic planning.
Coordinate with Academic Advising Financial Aid Student Accounts and Student Affairs to ensure seamless transition and support.
Develop targeted communications and outreach strategies tailored to adult learners and transfer populations.
Support re-enrollment and stop-out student initiatives by coordinating pathways back to degree completion.
Data Assessment and Continuous Improvement
Track and analyze key metrics related to transfer and adult student success including yield persistence retention credit efficiency and graduation rates.
Use disaggregated data to identify barriers and equity gaps affecting transfer and adult learners.
Prepare regular reports and dashboards for Enrollment Management and senior leadership.
Use assessment findings to continuously improve programs policies and student support strategies.
External Partnerships and Outreach
Serve as UAPBs primary liaison to community colleges and regional partners on transfer and adult learner initiatives.
Represent UAPB at transfer fairs articulation meetings and regional or state-level convenings.
Collaborate with Communications to promote UAPB as a transfer-friendly and adult-learner-responsive institution.
Support system-wide and statewide efforts to improve transfer pathways and credential completion.
Operational Management and Team Leadership
Provide leadership and supervision for staff within the Office of Transfer and Adult Services.
Manage operational budgets and resources in alignment with enrollment priorities.
Develop training and professional development opportunities for staff engaged in transfer and adult student services.
Ensure compliance with institutional policies accreditation expectations and state transfer guidelines.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelors degree from a regionally accredited institution.
- Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in enrollment management transfer services academic advising student success or related administrative roles in higher education.
- Demonstrated experience working with transfer students adult learners or post-traditional populations.
- Working knowledge of transfer articulation degree audit systems and academic policy.
- Strong organizational communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work across academic and administrative units.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze data and use metrics to improve student outcomes.
Preferred Qualifications
- Masters degree in Higher Education Student Affairs Educational Leadership or a related field.
- Experience at a four-year public or land-grant institution of higher education.
- Experience developing or managing articulation agreements with community colleges.
- Familiarity with degree audit systems (e.g. Degree Works) student information systems and CRM platforms.
- Experience supporting re-enrollment or stop-out student initiatives.
- Knowledge of state-level transfer policy or common course numbering systems.
