Notes: Focus on Backend/Services with experience in working with front end apps
| Position Summary / Job Purpose: A Manager of Digital Engineering (Services) is responsible for overseeing the full life cycle of software applications including solution architecture design development integration and performance testing and maintenance. Additionally the Manager is responsible for customer satisfaction for at least one of the critical business systems managed by Digital conjunction with the Digital Product and Digital Delivery teams the Manager will establish and execute the software application strategy for their Digital department. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: - Hires trains mentors and manages at least one Software Engineering team. Hires or contracts talent based on demand driven by Digital Engineering leadership team.
- Manages technical software development processes across more than one application development discipline for software technology product lines
- Establishes and ensures best practices for the software development lifecycle including solution architecture build and test
- Ensures that systems are stable and performing per SLAs in collaboration with Platform & Operations
- Works collaboratively with Scrum and Release Managers to ensure on-time on schedule delivery of projects
- Ensures that appropriate quality processes are in place to deliver high quality applications in compliance with all regulatory requirements
- Manages the sourcing of technical resources leveraging off-site/offshore resources where appropriate
- Fosters a culture of creativity collaboration speed innovation and excellence while continuously elevating the quality and caliber of our product development organization

| QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION |
| Hard Skills: - 10 years of development experience
- 5 years of Java EE experience
- 2 years leading a software development team
- Experience with Maven based Spring/Spring Boot (reactive programming a plus)
- Experience with Microservice architecture and design patterns (event-driven a plus)
- Experience with relational databases and stored procedure design (NoSQL a plus)
- Kubernetes Containers GitOps and Jenkins experience a plus
- Knowledge of SDLC methodologies (Agile DevOps XP etc..)
Soft skills: - Knowledge of computer science or engineering technical concepts practices and procedures within a particular field
- Able to communicate and implement technical solutions.
- Proven ability to collaborate with technical peers.
- Capable of working independently and as part of a team. May assist and guide junior staff as necessary.
- Demonstrate a certain degree of creativity with analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong with methodologies tools best practices and processes within specific area of responsibility
