Utility Services Supervisor

Eagle River Water and Sanitation District isseekinga dedicated and professional Utility Services Supervisor to join our team. This role plays a key part in strengthening community connections while leading the implementation maintenance and continuous improvement of our Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI).

Our Utility Services Technicians are often the first point of connection between theDistrictand its customers and serve as the frontline link to the community. While not everyone understands our operations every community member knows their monthly accuratemeter read and a friendly professional interaction play a significant role in creating a positive customer experience.

This role willbe responsible forsupervising the meter servicesprogramwhich includes reading installing inspecting and testing water metersand advanced metering infrastructure equipmentlocating and operating curb stopsas well as supervising a talented and dedicated team of meter you are aproven leader of people and implementer of systems we want to hear from you.

THE DAY TO DAY:

  • Leadership:Supervise the meter services team including performance management planning training and certification maintenance.
  • Relationships:Act as a liaison with other departments and committees to ensure smooth operations.
  • Customer Service:Interact with customersregardingmeter readings accounts and inquiries.
  • Maintenance:Oversee meter reading repairs testing and infrastructure management.
  • Scheduling:Develop procedures manage hardware and software systems andmaintainaccuraterecords.
  • Project Management:Lead AMI system maintenance infrastructure projects and process improvement initiatives.
  • Budgeting:Manage inventory equipment purchases and the departmental budget.
  • Data Analysis:Review consumption reports troubleshoot data issues andmaintainrecords.
  • Teamwork:Coordinate with other departments support customer service operations and respond to emergencies.
  • Safety:Ensure compliance with safety regulations and promote a strong culture of safety.

The Big Picture:Support and contribute to a highly productive team committed to providing efficient reliable water and wastewater service to customers from East Vail to Wolcott.



Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

The ideal candidates will bring five years of experience in the maintenance repair and installation of advanced metering infrastructure (AMI). Candidates with experience in administration planning operations purchasing scheduling project management etc. preferred. Two years of supervisory experience required.

Technical Knowledge

  • Requires a working knowledge of specialized practices equipment and procedures related to water and wastewater utility services (plumbing fire suppression systems and inspection work).
  • Backflow prevention and cross connection control knowledge preferred.
  • Must possess or have the ability to obtain within a set timeframe a Class 4 Water Distribution System Operator and Class 4 Wastewater Collection System Operator Certification.

Skills and Abilities

  • Demonstrated implementation problem-solving and project management skills.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills with the ability to handle a large variety of tasks and deadlines effectively.
  • Proven customer service and communication skills (verbal and written). This role will work directly with our customers including hotels resorts and engineering teams to explain clearly and confidently our processes and procedures for efficient metering services.
  • Public speaking or presentation skills are helpful.
  • Research data analysis and math skills are required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
  • Strong experience in Cloud-Based Technology and software management and integration preferred.

Other Requirements:

  • Must have the ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality. Knowledge of local area preferred.
  • Must possess a valid Colorado Drivers license within 30 days of full-time employment and be insurable under Districts standards.
  • Must obtain CPR/First Aid Certification within the first six (6) months of employment.

SCHEDULE
This position will work five eight hour shifts with some flexibility in start and time. This position is NOT required to work in an on-call capacity.

SALARY
The hiring pay range for this role is $103625 - $155438. We are committed to recognizing and retaining high-performing employees and have performance-based annual merit increases cost of living adjustments and annual market evaluations to make sure we are paying competitively.
