Wood Thilsted have a presence in Japan since 2019 where we carried out the detailed design of the Akita & Noshiro secondary steel structures. Since then we have grown our local team and have provided Geotechnical and Structural engineering services on over ten Japanese sites for a range of local and international Japan we are committed to building a strong local design team and we have a robust pipeline of projects. We are currently working on pre-auction foundation designs post-auction owners engineering support and a detailed foundation design project.

To deliver our Japanese and APAC region projects we are expanding our office in Tokyo and are looking for an Engineer to join our Primary Structures division starting from early 2026.

Areas of responsibility/業務内容

• Collaborate and contribute as an integral part of our team in Japan as well as our engineering teams world-wideto deliver world-class renewableenergy projects.

• 日本チームおよび世界各国のエンジニアリングチームと連携し世界水準の再生可能エネルギープロジェクトの遂行に貢献していただきます

• Develop your competences in offshore structural steel design of fixed offshore wind turbine foundations (both monopile and jackets) through supporting our Tokyo based Senior Engineers. Depending on your relevant technical area of expertise you will perform seismic geotechnical or structural analysis and assessments.

• 東京拠点のシニアエンジニアの指導のもと洋上風力発電の固定式基礎モノパイルおよびジャケットの鋼構造設計に関する専門性を高めていただきますご自身の技術分野地震地盤構造などに応じて各種解析評価業務を担当していただきます

• Use your knowledge to prepare detailed engineering reports and technical notes documenting engineering analyses and recommendations and contribute to the development of the overall project programme budget and risk registers.

• 解析結果や推奨事項を取りまとめ詳細なエンジニアリングレポートや技術メモを作成するとともにプロジェクト全体の工程管理予算管理リスクレジスター作成に貢献していただきます

• Use your programming skills and/or finite element capabilities to take part in or be responsible for the development of our in-house engineering software applied for structural design.

• プログラミングスキルや有限要素解析の知識を活かし構造設計に用いる自社開発のエンジニアリングソフトウェアの開発高度化に携わっていただきます

• Collaborate with colleagues to prepare summary design documents in English and Japanese and support presentations and interface with the local certification bodies.

• 同僚と協力して英語および日本語による設計サマリードキュメントの作成やプレゼン資料の準備認証機関との技術的なやり取りをサポートしていただきます

Your background/応募資格:

It is expected that you satisfy the following technical requirements:

以下の技術要件を満たしていることが求められます

• Masters degree or similar in civil structural or mechanical engineering and relevant experience as a professional Engineer in these disciplines.
• 土木工学構造工学または機械工学分野における修士号または同等の学位を有しこれらの分野においてプロフェッショナルエンジニアとしての実務経験を有すること

• Backgroud in structural/geotechnical design or metocean analysis for offshore structures preferred. Knowledge of soil-structure-interaction or seismic design concepts also of interest.
• 構造系地盤系又は洋上風力系を対象した気象海象解析のバックグラウンドが望ましい地盤構造相互作用や耐震設計の経験があれば尚可

• Experience in the Japanese offshore wind industry. Alternatively experience in onshore wind large infrastructure or buildings projects in Japan is also of interest.
• 日本の洋上風力発電事業における業務経験を有することもしくは日本国内における陸上風力大規模インフラまたは建築プロジェクトの経験を有する方も歓迎

• Familiarity with one or more programming languages e.g. MATLAB Python etc.
• MATLABPython など1 つ以上のプログラミング言語に精通していること

• Knowledge of Japanese design regulations and requirements for buildings or infrastructure.
• 日本の建築物またはインフラに関する設計基準法規要求事項に関する知識を有すること

• Business level (JLPT N2 or equivalent) in both written and spoken Japanese.
• 日本語について読み書き会話ともにビジネスレベルJLPT N2 相当以上であること

• Ability to comfortably conduct a business conversation in English.
• 英語によるビジネス会話を支障なく行えること
