Clinical Lab Scientist Consultant

Lighthouse Lab Services is representing a well-established clinical laboratory organization that is expanding its operations and preparing to open a new laboratory location in the Los Angeles area. We are currently seeking a Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) Generalist with molecular testing experience to play a key role in launching this new lab.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced CLS who enjoys startup environments and wants to contribute to building laboratory operations from the ground up.

Position Summary

The CLS will function as a generalist with an emphasis on molecular diagnostics and will assist with bringing the laboratory online. This role is part-time (approximately 10 hours per week) and ideal for someone looking to supplement their current position or contribute their expertise during the startup phase of a new lab.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform clinical laboratory testing as a CLS generalist including molecular testing

• Assist with laboratory setup validation and go-live activities

• Support test verification SOP review and workflow development

• Ensure compliance with CLIA CAP and state regulatory requirements

• Assist with quality control quality assurance and documentation

• Collaborate with leadership to establish efficient and compliant lab operations

• Troubleshoot instruments assays and processes as needed

Qualifications

• Current California Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) license (required)

• Experience as a CLS generalist

• Hands-on experience with molecular diagnostic testing (required)

• Strong understanding of CLIA and laboratory regulatory standards

• Prior experience with lab startups validations or new test implementations is highly preferred

• Ability to work independently and take initiative in a startup environment

Compensation & Benefits

• Competitive hourly pay: $45$55 per hour based on experience
