Job Title: Personal Care Assistant (ECSE)
Location: Leesburg VA
Contract Duration: 24 Weeks
Schedule: Monday Friday 7:00 AM 3:30 PM
Pay Range: $20.00 $25.00 per hour
Role Overview
Navitas Healthcare LLC is seeking a compassionate and dependable Personal Care Assistant (PCA) to provide one-on-one support for a student enrolled in an Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) program within a school-based setting. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the students safety comfort and ability to participate fully in daily educational activities.
Key Responsibilities
One-on-One Student Support: Provide individualized assistance addressing the students educational physical and developmental needs.
Personal Care Assistance: Support activities of daily living (ADLs) including toileting/diapering feeding and personal hygiene while maintaining dignity and respect.
Mobility & Transitions: Assist the student with safe movement throughout the classroom and school environment including transitions between activities.
Behavioral Support: Implement behavior intervention strategies as directed by instructional or therapeutic staff.
Classroom Participation: Encourage engagement in classroom activities peer interactions and sensory-based learning experiences.
Collaboration: Work closely with teachers therapists and school staff to support individualized education goals.
Required Qualifications
Experience: Prior experience working with young children (preschool or kindergarten age) or students with special needs strongly preferred.
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required; coursework in education child development or healthcare is a plus.
Skills: Strong patience empathy communication skills and physical stamina including the ability to lift or position students as needed.
Certifications: Ability to obtain and maintain CPR and First Aid certification.
