Job Summary

Lou Fusz Mazda in Evansville Indiana is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Automotive Collision Painter to join our growing collision repair team. This role is responsible for delivering high-quality refinish work that meets OEM standards dealership expectations and customer satisfaction goals.

The ideal candidate takes pride in craftsmanship follows proven paint processes and works well within a team-focused dealership environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform complete automotive refinishing work including prep masking priming basecoat and clearcoat application

  • Match paint colors accurately using manufacturer formulas and blending techniques

  • Inspect vehicles before and after painting to ensure quality standards are met

  • Operate and maintain spray booths paint guns and related equipment

  • Follow OEM dealership and insurance repair guidelines

  • Maintain a clean organized and safe paint area

  • Communicate with estimators body technicians and management regarding job status and quality concerns

  • Identify and report any repair issues or delays promptly

  • Comply with all safety environmental and hazardous material regulations

Qualifications & Experience

  • Previous experience as an automotive collision painter (dealership or collision center preferred)

  • Strong knowledge of refinish systems materials and techniques

  • Experience with waterborne paint systems preferred

  • Ability to perform accurate color matching and blending

  • Understanding of OEM repair standards and quality control processes

  • Ability to work efficiently while maintaining high-quality results

  • Valid drivers license with acceptable driving record
