Job Summary
Lou Fusz Mazda in Evansville Indiana is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Automotive Collision Painter to join our growing collision repair team. This role is responsible for delivering high-quality refinish work that meets OEM standards dealership expectations and customer satisfaction goals.
The ideal candidate takes pride in craftsmanship follows proven paint processes and works well within a team-focused dealership environment.
Key Responsibilities
Perform complete automotive refinishing work including prep masking priming basecoat and clearcoat application
Match paint colors accurately using manufacturer formulas and blending techniques
Inspect vehicles before and after painting to ensure quality standards are met
Operate and maintain spray booths paint guns and related equipment
Follow OEM dealership and insurance repair guidelines
Maintain a clean organized and safe paint area
Communicate with estimators body technicians and management regarding job status and quality concerns
Identify and report any repair issues or delays promptly
Comply with all safety environmental and hazardous material regulations
Qualifications & Experience
Previous experience as an automotive collision painter (dealership or collision center preferred)
Strong knowledge of refinish systems materials and techniques
Experience with waterborne paint systems preferred
Ability to perform accurate color matching and blending
Understanding of OEM repair standards and quality control processes
Ability to work efficiently while maintaining high-quality results
Valid drivers license with acceptable driving record
