J&J Robotics was established in 2020 with the integration of Auris Health Verb Surgical C-SATS and Ethicon. It comprises three key med-tech platforms: Flexible Robotics (MONARCH) Surgical Robotics (OTTAVA) and Digital Solutions. The Systems Integration Engineer will support sustaining and development of OTTAVAs robotic surgical subsystems. The primary focus of this position is planning and implementation of subsystem integration activities including bring-up of proof-of-concepts and initial builds. The candidate will collaborate with mechanical electrical robotics controls and software engineers in root-cause analysis and documentation of design manufacturing and algorithmic flaws in order to increase subsystem reliability. The candidate will also assist in development of new hardware functional test methods and conducting engineering studies to characterize feasibility and stability. One of the following combinations of education and years of experience are required:
A.) a BS Engineering (Mechatronics Electrical Mechanical Robotics) or equivalent areas in combination with 2 years of related experience
B.) An advanced degree ( PhD) Engineering (Mechatronics Electrical Mechanical Robotics) or equivalent in combination with 1 year experience is required.
The anticipated base pay range for this position is 10600 to 170775. California Bay Area.
