Respiratory Therapist (Travel / Local)
Location: Syracuse NY
Assignment Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: Day Shift 7:00 AM 7:00 PM
Compensation:
Local Rate: $48/hour
Traveler Rate: $57/hour (includes applicable stipends)
Position Overview
Navitas Healthcare LLC is seeking an experienced Respiratory Therapist to provide comprehensive cardiopulmonary care in an acute care hospital setting. This role involves delivering high-quality respiratory treatments supporting physicians and interdisciplinary teams and ensuring optimal patient outcomes with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities
Administer positive pressure and aerosol therapies
Initiate monitor and manage oxygen therapy
Assist physicians with initiating and maintaining continuous mechanical ventilation
Perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) as required
Conduct pulmonary function testing
Perform radial arterial punctures
Monitor patient responses to respiratory treatments and promptly report changes
Deliver respiratory care services in an acute care environment with minimal orientation
Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with facility policies and procedures
Required Qualifications
Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) in Respiratory Therapy
Active New York State Respiratory Therapist license/registration
Minimum 2 years of postA.A.S. acute care clinical experience
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to meet pre-employment health and compliance requirements
Required Skills
Respiratory Therapy experience (minimum 1 year)
Acute care hospital experience
Additional Requirement
Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) credential issued by NCTRC Required
