DescriptionAre you an experienced technician with a passion for vehicle maintenance and repair The Town of Paradise Valley (Town) is seeking a highly skilled and self-motivated Senior Fleet Technician to manage and maintain the Towns vehicle and heavy equipment fleet. This is a stand-alone position ideal for a seasoned professional who thrives in an independent hands-on role and takes pride in maintaining fleet operations at the highest standard.
More specifically the Senior Fleet Technician:
- Inspects diagnoses and repairs/authorizes warranty repairs of vehicles and heavy equipment.
- Performs preventative maintenance services on all Town vehicles and heavy equipment including but not limited to tuning engines; replaces clutches lights electrical components brakes suspension components tires and other repairs as needed.
- coordinates fleet services with other Town departments.
- Locates and purchases parts needed for maintenance and repairs; calls parts vendor and orders needed parts.
- Test drives and operates vehicles and equipment after repairs are completed for quality control.
- Maintains computerized fleet records (RTA) and completes activity and inventory reports.
- Assists with purchasing new vehicles tools and equipment and related commissioning/decommissioning.

QualificationsTo become the Senior Fleet Technician the Town requires:
- A high school diploma or GED.
- Five years full-time vehicle and heavy equipment maintenance and repair; or completion of a recognized apprenticeship as an automotive mechanic may substitute for two years of the required experience. - A valid class D Arizona drivers license.
- Within 12 months of hire obtain the following Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certifications:
A1 Engine Repair
A2 Automatic Transmission/Transaxle
A5 Brakes
A7 Heating and Air Conditioning - Preferred: Arizona class B commercial drivers license with a tanker endorsement.
- Successful completion of a background which may include employment driving and criminal history checks.
- Possess and maintain in working condition a complete set of hand and power tools in compliance with Town requirements.
