Floating: Required between Labor & Delivery Postpartum and Nursery
Job Summary
A healthcare facility is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for Labor & Delivery/Postpartum services on 12-hour night shifts. This role supports comprehensive maternal and newborn care and requires flexibility to float across related units including L&D Postpartum and Nursery.
Responsibilities
Provide high-quality nursing care to laboring postpartum and newborn patients
Circulate during cesarean sections (required)
Scrub for cesarean sections (preferred)
Monitor maternal and fetal status and respond to changes in condition
Assist physicians and surgical teams during deliveries and procedures
Educate patients and families on postpartum and newborn care
Accurately document patient care in accordance with hospital policies
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure patient safety and continuity of care
Float between L&D Postpartum and Nursery units as needed
Perform additional duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (New York State or eligible)
Experience in Labor & Delivery required
Circulating C-section experience required
Ability to scrub C-sections preferred
Strong clinical judgment communication and teamwork skills
Ability to work night shifts
