As the team that owns marketing communication for all new and remodeled Target store openings our mission is to deliver effective and delightful communication to our guests/consumers. The goal is to bring joy and invite consumers to visit our stores where we provide them with a warm and enriching experience of shopping for their everyday needs.
About this Opportunity
As a Senior Art Director you will lead the conceptualization and design of omni-channel marketing campaigns supporting new and remodeled Target store openings. You will partner closely with peers cross-functional teams and leadership to deliver best-in-class creative that is on brand on strategy and on time.
This role requires a strategic systems-minded creative thinker who can provide clear direction elevate design quality and guide work from concept through final execution. You will demonstrate exceptional graphic design craft campaign-level conceptual thinking and advanced proficiency across industry-standard design tools. You will oversee and execute creatives across a variety of channels including print and digital requiring a strong understanding of platform requirements production specifications and channel best practices. You will also review print production details to ensure accuracy quality and readiness for launch.
You will be accountable for prioritizing work making timely decisions and ensuring deadlines are met. You will develop presentations and confidently communicate creative recommendations to Marketing partners and senior leadership.
Success in this role also requires staying current on design style industry and technology trends and applying those insights to elevate the work. You will create thoughtful consumer-centric creatives that strengthen meaningful connections with our guests and reflect Targets voice culture and brand standards. You bring a multicultural lens to your approach understand cultural trends and think strategically about how Target shows up for diverse audiences.

Translate business and guest needs into clear effective design solutions in partnership with Target HQ and cross-functional teams.
Provide creative direction; guide the team toward strong concepts cohesive systems and high-quality execution.
Mentor designers through clear feedback coaching and standards that elevate the work.
Lead projects with copywriters art directors production designers and creative managers; drive alignment and momentum.
Present work confidently; articulate design rationale and strategy to Marketing partners and leadership.
Influence stakeholders by navigating feedback resolving ambiguity and aligning partners toward strong creative outcomes.
Plan and prioritize multiple projects; make timely decisions to meet deadlines.
Own work end-to-end from concept to production; ensure print and digital readiness including production detail review.

Stay current on design style and technology trends; apply learnings to improve output.
