Your mission
We are looking for a hands-on HR Officer to temporarily replace our HR Manager during maternity leave. The assignment will run at least from May until November with a planned overlap for a smooth handover.
While this role is set up as a maternity cover we are open to exploring a long-term collaboration depending on organizational needs and mutual fit.
In this position you will ensure the continuity of the HR department and act as the primary HR point of contact for employees and managers managing a broad range of operational and people-related HR responsibilities.
Your responsibilities
- Ensure the smooth day-to-day operation and continuity of the HR department during the maternity cover period
- Act as the first point of contact for HR-related questions from employees and managers providing clear and practical guidance
- Manage HR administration across the full employee lifecycle including contracts amendments personnel files and offboarding
- Coordinate end-to-end recruitment processes from job postings and candidate screening to interview coordination and hiring follow-up
- Organize and deliver seamless onboarding for new hires ensuring a positive employee experience from day one
- Prepare and validate payroll input and manage absences leave and time registration in close collaboration with external payroll partners
- Support employees and managers on general HR topics such as performance well-being absence and day-to-day people matters
- Maintain update and help implement HR policies procedures and internal documentation
Your profile
- You have a minimum of 2-3 years of broad HR experience with an active role in recruitment. Experience in hybrid/remote and/or SaaS/Tech/Startup/Product companies gets you bonus points as well
- You have good working knowledge of Belgian HR practices and social legislation and the ability to independently research and resolve unfamiliar topics
- You understand the importance of confidentiality in HR matters and maintain an overall level of discretion
- Fluent in English with strong written and verbal communication skills. Knowledge of Dutch is a plus
- Youre based in Belgium and can work from the Leuven office on a regular basis
