Job Summary

EIPS is recruiting a temporary part-time (0.532 FTE) Grade 2 Teacher at Wes Hosford Elementary. This position will teach literacy and numeracy to grade 2 students. The position will be Monday to Friday specifically 9:02am to 12:02pm on regular days (Monday/Tuesday/Thursday/Friday) and 8:57am to 11:27am every Wednesday which coincides with periods 2-6 daily.

Wes Hosford Elementary serves approximately 300 students in kindergarten to Grade 6 with 15 teaching staff and10 support staff. The school is located in Sherwood Park AB.

Wes Hosford Elementary provides an engaging atmosphere that facilitates and supports lifelong learning and a safe environment staff meet the diverse needs of students while modelling responsible citizenship for a global society.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Education degree
  • Valid Alberta Teaching Certificate
  • Effective organization and classroom management skills
  • Ability to create a classroom environment where students feel safe supported and challenged
  • Excellent verbal and written skills
  • Experience or familiarity with analyzing data and using data to inform decisions and/or instruction
  • Strong collaboration and teamwork skills
  • Growth mindset and ability to use feedback to improve practice
  • Relentless drive to set and achieve personal and professional goals
  • Nonviolent Crisis Intervention training
