The Didipio mine is located on Luzon Island in the Philippines and is the Companys only asset that produces both gold and copper. Didipio was built by OceanaGold in 2013 and operates fully as underground mine with over 800 employees that support the mine.
OceanaGold is seeking a suitably qualified experienced and reliable Superintendent - Community Relations & Development to take the lead in ensuring companys compliance and/or adherence to Community agreements/commitments to uphold Human Rights and Respect on Indigenous Peoples Culture and traditions and to assist in implementing effective strategies in social investments and Information Education. This aims to increase efficiency of ComRel activities and effectively manage relationship with community stakeholders to ensure sustainable operation of the company.
Key tasks and responsibilities:
- Ensures attendance to SHEs mandatory training as endorsed by immediate superior or Department Manager
- Organize and/or conduct community discussions in the host and neighboring communities
- Ensure continuous community engagements by team members to ensure that positive relations are built and sustained with host and adjacent communities.
- Organizational Institution Building and Linkaging (Local and National).
- Assist in the planning development monitoring and evaluation of community programs/projects in all components of SDMP consistent with the relevant government regulations and guidelines and its impact to the community/stakeholders;
- Assist in facilitating the implementation of programs and/or projects in SDMP/Municipalities barangays to enhance and improve all components
- Ensure the conduct of community information education and communication on the companys operation and programs community organizing and assist in promoting enterprise development appropriate in the area
- Facilitate community discussions on issues that relates to companys operation and guiding them in crafting plausible solutions
- Adheres to environment Health & Safety policies. Contributes to the achievement of targets & objectives and applies procedures permits and instruction
Qualifications :

Educational Background:
- BS Forestry graduate major in Social Forestry
- Diploma in Forest Ranger
Work Experience and background:
- More than 10 years of experience in Community Organizing and Development Stakeholders management and conflict resolution Social and Environmental research Campaign Planning and Management and Community information and communication.
